SPEAKING BOOKS

suicide book

Literacy is a luxury that many of us take for granted.  We depend on written communication for information, guidance, and access to heath care information That is why SADAG created SPEAKING BOOKS and revolutionized the way information is delivered to low literacy communities. It's exactly what it sounds like.a book that talks to the reader in his or her local  language, delivering critical information in an interactive, and educational way.

The customizable 16-page book, accompanied by local celebrity audio recordings, ensures that vital health and social messages can be seen, heard, read and understood..

We started with books on Teen Suicide prevention , HIV, AIDS and Depression, Understanding Mental Health and have developed over 30 titles, such as TB, Malaria, Polio, Vaccines for over 30 countries.

my school

The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) is proud to announce that that we are now a successful beneficiary with the Woolworths MySchool Rewards Program.

MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet is South Africa's number one community support fundraising programme, which raises over R6 million a month for more than 8,000 worthy schools, charities, environmental and animal welfare organisations.

The best part: It doesn’t cost you as a supporter a cent to make a difference. Funds are raised on a monthly basis. Simply swipe your MySchool Supporter Card when you shop at one of the many MySchool partners, which have been listed below. SADAGs funds raised will be used to help fund the Suicide Crisis Helplines, which receives over 600 calls a day.

How does MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet work?

  • Supporters apply for a free MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card and select up to 3 schools and/or charities as their beneficiary/ies.
  • When they purchase items from participating retailers they swipe the card with the purchase.
  • A percentage of their transaction is then allocated to their beneficiary.
