SADAG has hosted 2 Community Workshops in Olivenhoutbosch and in Kathlehong. The Olivenhoutbosch workshop was held at the Extension 13 Clinic on 15 November and 116 people participated in the event. Sister Sarah Kutumela, the Clinic Manager assisted SADAG in the coordination of the event.

The Kathlehong Workshop was held on Friday, 17 November. Martha Radebe from Ekupholeni Mental Health and Treatment Centre helped with the planning and coordination of the event. Key stakeholders such as health care workers, SAPS, Ward Councillors and committee members, other NGO' s, FBO's and members of the community were invited to the events.
The aim of the events were to create awareness and understanding of Depression, Suicide Prevention, and how to access support & referrals. Every attendee received a Speaking Book, which is an audiovisual tool to assist people with low literacy skills to understand important psychosocial issues such as making healthy choices that will impact one' s future, saying no to alcohol and drugs, how to deal with bullying, identifying typical signs of Depression and risk factors for suicide. Although the Speaking Books are targeted at the youth, it also allows other family members to increase their knowledge and awareness of the key concepts. It also assists ECD and Community Health Workers to use the books to facilitate dialogue on these important topics. The attendees also received wristbands, key holders and brochures on Depression, Anxiety, Suicide and Drugs. SADAG also aims to empower the community members to make a positive difference in their lives by choosing healthy lifestyle choices which will help the individual, the family, the community and society as a whole.
The events were sponsored by National Lotteries Commission (NLC) and Rotary.
