Donovan Shirley

“When life knocks you down, Get Back Up."

Donovan Shirley is taking on an extraordinary endurance challenge, covering approximately 180km in 24 hours by starting at City Hall in Pietermaritzburg, running to the start of the Comrades Marathon and then completing the official race.

This powerful journey symbolises resilience, showing that no matter how “down” you may feel, with courage and support, you can rise again.

About the Challenge

Starting in Pietermaritzburg, Donovan will run to Durban overnight before lining up for the official Comrades Marathon and running back to Pietermaritzburg.

The goal is to raise awareness around Mental Health, start meaningful conversations and raise funds for vital support services.
