The South African Depression and Anxiety Group (SADAG) is South Africa's premier Mental Health non-governmental organisation, dedicated to providing free, accessible support, resources, and education to individuals and communities nationwide. Founded in 1994 to help patients with Depression and Anxiety disorders, SADAG has grown into the country's most comprehensive Mental Health support network. Our organisation operates as a beacon of hope, offering life-saving support, education, and community engagement for those in need, regardless of location, background, age, or financial status.

24/7 Crisis Support and Helplines

  • Over 30 national toll-free helplines staffed by trained counsellors
  • South Africa's only Suicide Crisis Line
  • Available 7 days a week, 365 days a year
  • Specialised helplines for Depression, Trauma, Anxiety, Panic, Suicide, Bipolar Disorder, Substance Use, and more
  • Telephonic counselling, crisis intervention, and referrals to Mental Health professionals

Community Support Networks

  • Over 180 free Support Groups across the country
  • Free online Mental Health Support Group Leader Training
  • Free online Peer Support Group meetings held bi-weekly – for Tertiary Students, by Tertiary Students.
